Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 September 2026

1. Who we are

EngCPD is operated by Kingstone Consultancy Ltd (“Kingstone Consultancy”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using EngCPD you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. What EngCPD is (and isn't)

EngCPD is a record-keeping tool that helps you log continuing professional development and generate reports from it, including reports mapped to UK-SPEC competency areas. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for judgement from the IET, any other professional body, or your employer. We do not verify the accuracy of anything you enter, and generating a report through EngCPD is no guarantee it will be accepted by any particular body or employer. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your own CPD records.

3. Eligibility

EngCPD is a professional tool. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these terms to use it.

4. Your account

Accounts and sign-in are handled by KC Secure, Kingstone Consultancy’s own authentication service; we never see your password. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for anything that happens through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the “add from a link” or calendar-sync features to probe, attack, or place excessive load on a third-party site or service;
  • submit another person’s personal data as part of a CPD entry without a proper basis for doing so;
  • attempt to access another user’s account or data, or interfere with the service’s normal operation;
  • use EngCPD to store or generate unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content.

6. Third-party links and calendars

Pasting a link or connecting a calendar feed means we fetch data from a service we don’t control and can’t vouch for. We’re not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party site or calendar provider you choose to connect.

7. Intellectual property

EngCPD’s software, design, and branding belong to Kingstone Consultancy Ltd. You retain ownership of the CPD entries and reflections you write; you grant us only the licence needed to store, process, and display them back to you as part of the service.

8. Availability and changes

EngCPD is provided on an ongoing-development basis with no uptime guarantee. We may add, change, or remove features, and may suspend the service for maintenance, without notice where reasonably necessary.

9. Termination and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; this is immediate and permanent, see our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches §5 of these terms.

10. Disclaimers and liability

EngCPD is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kingstone Consultancy Ltd’s liability to you arising from your use of EngCPD is excluded; nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify active users. Continuing to use EngCPD after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
